Finding Jesus provides a challenging look at the gospel truths related to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Having screened the first episode, I can say that I’ll be tuning in, Bible in hand, to learn from the Catholic experts involved in this project. I expect the series to prompt fascinating conversations as we anticipate the solemnity of Holy Week and the glory of the Easter season.”

“A faith that is tempered in the fire of doubt will stand strong.

CNN’s new series Finding Jesus explores six objects from the time of Christ, offering scientific evidence and academic research concerning the Shroud of Turin, the Sudarium of Oviedo and the True Cross. It also addresses controversial archeological finds including the gnostic gospel of Mary Magdalene (which was popularized in Dan Brown’s fictional novel The DaVinci Code) and the James Ossuary, both of which seem to contradict historic Christian teachings.

If director David Gibson’s insights differ from mine, that doesn’t diminish the series’ compelling message. Christians who want to be informed will enjoy CNN’s six-part series Finding Jesus on Lenten Sundays.”

“This show is a CNN original series, and I expected a much more “newsy,” skeptical, and even irreverent approach. This show did not belittle the Faith in any way. On the contrary, the narration and interviews were quite reverent and respectful. The program delves into history, culture, science and faith without disparaging any of these traditions or giving in to sensationalism,” says Barb Szyszkiewicz. Read her review here.

“I do hope that it will be the sources of many conversations that help us to have deeper conversations about our faith,” says Pia de Solenni. Read more here.

“If you are looking to convert some of your screen time [this Lent] to be more faith-oriented, Finding Jesus would be a good place to start, says Jen Steed. Read her review here.
