Pontifical Council for the Laity (Head of the Church and Sport Section) Endorses When The Game Stands Tall
We are so honored to work on a film that gets an endorsement from the Vatican. Wonderful start to our Tuesday.
A vast number of Catholic organizations, media and influencers have enthusiastically endorsed When The Game Stands Tall, a movie inspired by the remarkable true story of legendary football coach Bob Ladouceur (Jim Caviezel), who took a Catholic school, the De La Salle High School Spartans, from obscurity to a 151-game winning streak that shattered all records for any American sport. Now, a key Vatican department can be added to the growing list of endorsements of the film.
“When The Game Stands Tall is a powerful movie that spreads the values of effort, fellowship, the importance of family and how to face adversity with courage. It teaches what is truly important in life. I am happy to wish the movie all possible success. It can be an effective instrument in encouraging the many people who dedicate their time to educating others through sport. I find it a wonderful work that could inspire many people about how to coach a team in any kind of sport and how to play in an ethical way.” – S. Perez de Camino Gaisse, Head of the Church and Sport Section, Pontifical Council for the Laity
